Job description

As a data analyst (market surveillance), you will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights across the business. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will monitor market activities, investigate unusual patterns, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will help shape the market surveillance capability while collaborating with various teams to address their data-related inquiries and support projects.

• Monitor orders and trades across our markets for signs of market abuse, and investigate what looks unusual
• Own the decision on whether a case meets the REMIT notification threshold, and submit the notification to the national regulatory authority and ACER
• Keep case records that hold up to external review, and improve how we detect issues, from tooling to procedures
• Work with teams such as Operations and Finance on the questions they need answered, from one-off analysis to recurring reporting
• Support projects across the company where data analysis is needed
• Build dashboards and tools that make recurring analysis faster, including practical uses of AI
• Explain what the data shows clearly to the people who need to act on it

Relevant work experience

• 3+ Years in a Quantitative or Analytical Role, with a Background in Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, or Similar Fields
• Comfortable working with large, detailed datasets, including high-frequency timestamped event data
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, spreadsheets, and BI tools, or the equivalent
• Willing to work on very different questions, from market investigation to financial reporting
• Patience to investigate properly before concluding, and confidence in your own interpretation of the evidence
• Ability to clearly explain complex findings to people who do not work with data
